part in maintaining the nation’s food supply through ensuring agricultural
productivity and the supply's safety.

ways of improving their quantity and quality by using less labor and, where
crops are concerned, conserving soil and controlling pests and weeds more

EDUCATION

economics and business administration. College teaching/agricultural
extension service offer opportunities to post graduates in agriculture.
Government agencies, state departments of
agriculture, banks and various trade organization hire agricultural employees.
State departments supervise the increase in crop production and seed up
gradation.
Jobs are also available in the departments of animal
husbandry and fisheries in the states. For forestry, every state has a separate
department. The "Green Revolution" has ushered in numerous job
opportunities for agricultural engineers.

food processing industry is a nascent field, and those with training can find

Food processing companies, (for human consumption or animal
feed) food research laboratories, food wholesalers, retailers and even in
